Birenboim, Israel


Son of-Ze’ev-Wolf. Born in 1916 in Grodno, Poland, in 1935, he immigrated to Eretz Israel with his parents and settled in the Borochov neighborhood, where he served in guard duty throughout the country and joined the British army in 1939. He was appointed to serve in Gush Halav. On 18.6.1939, carrying water to the Gush Halav military camp, Israel was killed in a car accident near the village of Fardia, along the Acre-Safed road with the late Alfred Cohen, and was brought to rest in the Nahalat Yitzhak cemetery in the Hagana section.
