Bick, Yisrael-Aharon (Shulu, Yisrulik)


Was born on the 2nd of Elul, August 14, 1923 in Vienna, Austria. In 1938, he immigrated to Israel as part of the Youth Aliya, and after a year his parents immigrated to Israel. He took part in combat and defense operations on the eastern front of the Upper Galilee and reached the rank of commander-in-chief. Before the first truce began, the Syrians attacked Mishmar Hayarden and succeeded in occupying it on June 10, 1948. The enemy tried to exploit its success and advance towards Rosh Pina, and our forces fought hard until they managed to neutralize it, but Yisrael-Aharon fell in this battle on 5 Sivan, June 12, 1948. On the 16th of Tammuz 5708 (23.7.1948), he was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rosh Pina.
