Betzer, Moshe
Son of Shifra and Israel. He was born on the 25th of Shevat (February 2, 1913) in Merhavia. During World War II he was one of the first to respond to the call of the Yishuv and enlisted in the British Army, and after his training period was sent with his unit, the Hebrew Transport Company. On May 27, 1943, his ship was bombed by German planes and descended to the depths, and a hundred and forty of the company’s soldiers drowned, and Moshe, with them.
