Bertram, Zvi


Son of Mindel and Yeshayahu, was born on April 8, 1913, in the city of Sodtz, Poland, to an ultra-Orthodox family, where he began studying and working as a shoemaker in Dombrowa. After the German invasion of Poland, he returned to his parents’ home, where he was born and transferred to the Auschwitz, Dachau, and other camps on his ship “Moledet” in 1947. After his return to Palestine he joined the Palmach and then served in the air Force. Zvi was killed in Ramat David on the 6th of Shvat 5709 (6.2.1949) and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
