Bershadsky (Brosh), Ilan
Son of Yehoshua and Batya. He was born on July 4, 1950 in Haifa. He studied at the Reali School and at the “Hugim” High School – both in Haifa. He was a member of the “Scouts” movement and was a guide in it and also in the Gadna, and since his childhood, Ilan revealed to his father that he was eager to be a pilot, and he would look at his brother, who was in a pilots’ course and was interested in what he did. Who was also a pilot, was proud of his impressive performance, and one day he told his father: “Dad, soon another family will be added to the family.” In mid-July 1968 he was drafted into the IDF and volunteered for the air force. He went into the army with a positive charge: strong willpower, devotion to the cause and love for others. And when he decided to go to a pilot’s course, he was enthusiastic and despite the difficulties he had accumulated on his way he could. He passed stage by stage and beamed and Simcha when he reached the goal of his life-wearing flying wings. He felt he had reached the climax when he was assigned to a combat squadron. He did not hide his concern for the family. During the course of the course he always calms the parents by saying, “Mom, Dad – do not worry!” When he came home on Fridays, the house would be full of joy and he would cheer up his friends and friends. On his last Saturday, the family celebrated his 20th birthday and on the following day, on July 5, 1970, his commanders came to tell the parents that Ilan had fallen in the line of duty and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. His parents published a booklet in his memory entitled Ilan.
