Bernstein, Sam

He was born in 1878 and lived in Leeds, England, where he volunteered for the Jewish Legion, the 38th regiment of the King’s Army, which was organized by the British army and was to participate in the conquest of Palestine from the Turks. On October 21, 1918, Sam died and was laid to rest in the British military cemetery in Gaza.
