Bernstein, Dov (Baba)

Dov (Baba), son of Esther and Aryeh (Leon) Bernstein, was born on 19.6.1923 in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, where he completed four grades of an elementary school and three classes in a commercial school. He immigrated to Israel in 1945. He lived in Kiryat Motzkin and worked in an iron factory, Dov was a member of the Haganah; he enlisted and served in the 7th Brigade. Dov served in the battles in Latrun and the Galilee, and fell in the battle of Tarshicha on the 2th of Tamuz, July 19, 1948. He was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya. Three months after his death, his parents arrived in Israel.
