Bern, Abraham


Son of Malka and Shmuel, was born in 1927 in Grosrudyn, Transylvania, Hungary, and immigrated to Israel on August 27, 1944 together with a group of friends who had survived the camps in Hungary. He was educated at the immigrant youth movement in Afikim. With the unification of two youth groups, he moved to Ramat Hakovesh and enlisted in the Palmach, where he was enthusiastic about leaving the labor battalions and taking part in the construction of the new point – Kibbutz Nachsholim in Tantura. When the War of Independence broke out, he enlisted among the former in the Carmeli Brigade, but remained attached to his kibbutz and took an interest in what was happening there, and Avraham was among those sent to Ramot Naftali, where he fell on June 10, 1948 ) And was buried in Ramot Naftali. On the 16th of Adar 5706 (16.3.1950) he was transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery in Haifa.
