Berman, Ofer


Son of Maisie and Baruch, was born on the 25th of Cheshvan 5759 (25.10.1958) in the village of Monash, in the Hefer Valley. Ofer attended elementary school in Kfar Yedidya, near his village. He continued his studies at the Beit Yitzhak elementary school, and later moved to the regional high school in Emek Hefer. Ofer completed his high school studies in biology. In January 1977, he joined the IDF and was a candidate for a pilot course, and in November 1977 he was promoted to the rank of corporal and sent to a pilot training course. After completing his training, he signed a commitment in July 1978 to serve for eight years in the career army. Ofer received the rank of lieutenant colonel and served as a navigator, and during his service in the IAF, his commanders expressed their appreciation and described him as an innocent officer who devoted himself to his work.
