Berkovits, Zvi


Son of Zippora and Yosef, was born in 1925 in the city of Nermanica, Czechoslovakia, where he graduated from elementary school. He then studied for three years in high school. During his studies, he helped his parents with their livelihood and worked alongside them in the bakery. Zvi immigrated to Israel in 1948, was drafted into the army, served in the Alexandroni Brigade and immediately went to battle. He fell in Operation “Cop” in a battle for the village of Ein Ghazal near Haifa on 25 July 1948. Zvi was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Netanya
