Berkovits, Ozer Yisrael

Son of Adelbert and Edith. Born on the 3rd of Teves, December 16, 1947, in Romania. The family immigrated to Israel in 1950. At the age of three, he began studying at the “Hagefen” elementary school. After completing his studies there, he continued his high school studies at the municipal high school. He completed his studies in Haifa, and received a matriculation certificate. In February 1966, he was drafted into the IDF. A disciplined and friendly soldier, and loyal to his commanders, and as the territorial officer testifies, he would have played a responsible role in supplying water to a tanker driven by a driver in the unit, but before he completed his compulsory service, he died in Bir-Gafgafa. This was on the 28th of Av, August 22, 1968. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa.
