Hanan, son of Shoshana and Meir, was born on August 12, 1949 in Kibbutz Haogen. When he was a baby his family moved to Kibbutz Shomrat and was one of the founders of the kibbutz. At school Hanan was a comfortable student, loved and loved by everyone. When he was in the twelfth grade, the Six-Day War broke out, and together with his contemporaries Hanan helped with various jobs in the agriculture, when his comrades went to serve in the war.Hanan was a handsome, handsome and kind-hearted man who by nature was honest, loyal and peace-loving. He was an excellent athlete and especially liked playing volleyball, and Hanan was drafted into the IDF in late October 1967 and volunteered for a pilots’ course. After three weeks of tests, he decided to move to the Armored Corps. In the Armored Corps he completed basic training and was trained as a tank driver. After a few months he completed an artillery course and was certified as a tank gunner. After a period of service in the unit, he completed a course for armored instructors and was assigned as a guide at the Armored Corps School. During the period of his service in the Israel Defense Forces he excelled in his efficiency and peace of mind, and his friends remembered him as an excellent instructor and a good friend. Hanan returned to the kibbutz and married his girlfriend Judith, who for many days loved each other and during his vacations from the army he worked in the kitchen to be with her, and after their marriage they traveled together for a tour of Europe and returned to him full of wonderful experiences.Hanan worked in the carpentry shop and was one of the founders of the kibbutz sailing club. Atonement was called Hanan to join his unit, which was quickly sent to carrots In the battle that took place on October 16, 1973, against the Egyptian forces in the area of the “Chinese farm,” Hanan’s tank was hit and he was killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Shomrat. Survived by a wife, parents and sister. After his fall, he was promoted to First Sergeant. His commander wrote: “He excelled in the performance of his duties, stood out for his professionalism, his responsibility and his great devotion to his role and to the entire tank crew.” In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, Defense Minister Moshe Dayan wrote: “Hanan z” l served in the Armored Corps. He was a dedicated soldier and loyal friend. Everyone who knew – loved. “Kibbutz Shomrat published a booklet in his memory.
