Berkovits, Dov (Datish)
Son of Yitzhak, was born in 1928 in the city of Mako, Transylvania, which before World War I belonged to Hungary and was transferred again to it in World War II. He attended high school for four years. With the deportation of the Jews of Transylvania, he was brought to the Buchenwald labor camp in Germany, where he experienced all bitter attempts until he was liberated upon the collapse of the enemy front. He joined the Hashomer Hatzair movement, organized in the “Ha-Zurim” group and immigrated with his friends on the ship Shabtai Lozinski. From Kfar Masaryk, he volunteered for the Palmach brigade, which went to conquer Acre, where he moved to the Haganah and participated as a combatant in the Carmeli Brigade in the northern systems On Tuesday, 10 June 1948, he fell in Ramot Naftali, And was buried in Ramot Naftali. On the 16th of Adar 5706 (16.3.1950) he was transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery in Haifa.
