Bergman, Oron

Bergman, Oron

Son of Moshe and Lena. He was born on December 20, 1959 in Jerusalem. He studied at the Neve Etzion Elementary School in Beit Vegan in Jerusalem and continued his high school studies at the Or Etzion hesder yeshiva in the city of Sapir. Oron was a member of the Bnei Akiva movement. He loved reading and traveling in Israel, especially in the Judean desert. He was very friendly and connected to his family. An intelligent boy who always knew how to say the right thing in the right place, and for good reason everyone wanted to hear his opinion and advice. In January 1978, Oron was drafted into the IDF and joined the Nahal Brigade. On May 5, 1978, he fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, and left behind his parents, brothers and sisters in a letter of condolence to the bereaved family: “Oron was a good soldier “Oron was a friend of everyone,” one of the friends said in her memoirs, “and tried to help friends who were not so popular in society.” His family commemorated him in a meeting in the Golan Heights.
