Berger, Yaakov-Yosef
The youngest son of Rivka and Yisrael Gedaliah. Born in 1928 to parents who immigrated to Eretz Israel from the Soviet Union, Yaakov began studying in the “Etz Chaim” Talmud Torah in Jerusalem and then continued his studies in the Yeshivot of Makor Chaim and Tiferet Zion in Bnei Brak. Yaakov, or Yankele, as he was called by his many friends, was a handsome, gentle and kind man, and in 1957 he volunteered for a year of national service, joined the Jewish Settlements Police and served as a guard in various communities in Israel. On 19.10.1946, he died in an accident while on duty at the Neve Ilan group near Jerusalem and was brought to eternal rest in the Wahlin section of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. He left parents, a sister and five brothers.
