Berger, Chaim
He was a member of the Social Democratic Party and worked as a journalist. He immigrated to Israel in 1935. He worked for a year in a quarry in Haifa and at various odd jobs, then joined the Nutras and came to Tiberias to serve in the city. He was an outstanding member of the Jewish community in Tiberias. While on guard duty with two other guards, Chaim was shot by Arab attackers and wounded. Shortly afterwards, he died in the hospital, on 14.12.1937, and was put to rest in the Jewish cemetery in Tiberias.
