Berg, Jacob (Kobi)
Yaakov, son of Pnina and Evyatar, was born on May 6, 1951 in Kibbutz Dovrat Yaakov was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in late October 1969, and after being assigned to the Armored Corps he completed his training at the Armored Corps School, where he was a good soldier, independent, intelligent and resourceful. On the day of the Yom Kippur War, Yaakov was sent with a tank force to the southern sector of the Suez Canal and participated in the battle against the Egyptians On October 16, 1973, at the height of the great breakthrough across the Channel, Kobi was killed by a shell in his armored personnel carrier, When he was working to evacuate the wounded, he was laid to rest in the cemetery in his kibbutz, Dovrat, leaving behind his parents, two sisters and a brother.
