Berezovsky (Livne), Avraham
Son of Golda and Haim, was born on March 28, 1928 in Tel Aviv, where he received his first education at the workers’ school and at the model school, then attended Kibbutz Yagur High School and completed his studies at home. He was a member of the Hanoar Haoved movement and a member of Ha-Po’el (soccer) in 1945. In 1945, he joined the Jewish Settlements Police and served as a police officer in Tel Mond, and at the outbreak of the War of Independence he participated in the defense of Tel Aviv On the border with Jaffa, served in the Negev, and later accompanied escort convoys to Jerusalem; temporarily transferred to the military police in Sharona, but resigned from his service because he wanted to be at the front. Bible said: “The good die for the homeland.” On Wednesday, Nissan Independence (13/04/1948) arrived in Jerusalem largest convoy. On the same day, the convoy in Sheikh Jarrah was attacked, and Avraham left with the force to rescue the convoy. In this battle, he fell and was buried in Sanhedria in Jerusalem. On the 26th of Elul 5711 (26.9.1951) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
