Bereznicki, David
Son of Hadassah and Moshe. He was born in 1920 in Brozno, in Grodno, Poland. In 1934 he immigrated to Palestine with his family, who settled in Ramat Gan. During the Second World War, he served as a Haganah inspector and as a member of the Hagana held various guard duties. On the morning of 17 Tevet (9.1.1947), at 1:30 AM, he was found unconscious on the Petach Tikva Road. A night watchman who was around heard shouts, ran to the scene and saw a car with British soldiers moving away and David lying on the ground. At the Hadassah Hospital in Tel Aviv, where the young man was brought, it turned out that he had been beaten with a blunt instrument in his head and caused a fracture in the skull. He died that day. David was brought for burial in the Nahalat Yitzhak cemetery.
