Berenzweig, Dov (Berish)


Son of Hanna and Benion, was born on the 27th of Iyar, May 23, 1914 in Warsaw, Poland. Dov made a living as a plumber. He managed to escape the Nazis who conquered Poland and immigrated to Israel on May 6, 1940. Over the years Dov worked in all kinds of jobs, mainly as a laborer and his permanent residence was in Tel Aviv. He was an active member of the Hagana.
On the 19th of Adar I 5708 (28.2.1948), he was one of the defenders of the “Yotzek” factory on the Tel Aviv border, whose weapons were dismantled by the British and they were abandoned to a mob of Arabs who attacked them. Dov was brought to rest at the Nahalat Yitzhak Military Cemetery. He left a wife, Rivka, and two children.
