Benyamini (Bakshi), Yitzhak


Ezra and Georgia’s youngest son. He was born on December 25, 1942 in Jerusalem. In 1936 the family immigrated to Israel and settled in the Holy City. As a child, he studied at the “Hadar” school, entered the “Orchaim” elementary school, continued his elementary studies at Tachkemoni, and then, when he completed his studies, he entered the high school. Showed a tendency in the real professions. He was quiet and modest and loved cinema and theater. While we were young, he belonged to the Scouts movement and later to the United Movement. In January 1962, he was drafted into the IDF and completed his regular service as a paratrooper paratrooper. Gereinu received his training in Hamadiya after basic training and advanced training at Amiad. Was devoted to his friends and loved to help them, and even during the difficult days of his service in the army all his actions were accompanied by a pleasant playful daughter, to the point of frivolity and lightness, and he often gave them encouragement. So he was so popular with all his friends. He served in the reserves as well. After his discharge from the army he returned to Jerusalem. He successfully completed an accounting course and worked in this field in several places. Three months ago, he was accepted as a bookkeeper at the Holyland Hotel, and in this short period he could buy the attention of all those around him and their appreciation of his diligence and precision in his work. During the days of alert for the Six-Day War, when many of his comrades were called to defend the homeland, he was afraid that they had forgotten him and that he would not be called to the flag; Then he called the base to know why and why the reading order was delayed. When the missile was called into battle and fought as a hero for the liberation of Jerusalem, it did not merit to see its complete liberation because it fell in battle in the capital, Ammunition Hill on the 27th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), the second day of the battles.
