Benstock, Avraham


Avraham, son of Yehoshua and Yosefa Benstock, was born on May 9, 1947 in the city of Ulm in Germany. The family immigrated to Israel in 1949. He reached the IDF in July 1965 and volunteered for the paratroop unit. In the midst of his regular service, the Six-Day War broke out, and on the second day of the fighting, on the 6th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), he fell in Sanhedria in Jerusalem defending a mortar post. Avraham was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
