Benoz (Ben-Uzi), Yaakov

Yaakov, son of Refael and Tamar Benoz, was born in Morocco in 1943. In 1956 his family immigrated to Israel. At the age of sixteen and a half, he joined the ranks of the Gadna, and was drafted into the IDF at the end of July 1961. After completing his army service, he completed a course in the engineering corps and was trained as a leveler. In March 1978 he was called up for an active reserve duty and did not return. On 27.4.1978, Yaakov was killed in the course of his duties in a clash with terrorists in the Litani area of ​​Lebanon. They returned his body and he was brought to rest in the cemetery in Haifa only on August 23, 1982.
