Benny (Weiss), Moshe (Mickey)


Son of Esther and Aaron (Arnold) was born on 4 November 1913 in Potszny, Slovakia, studied in a graphic arts school and worked abroad with the Bata shoe company until he joined the hachshara and immigrated to Israel in 1938 through At first he was a guard at the Zichron Ya’akov vineyards, and once he was guarding an Arab thief, he was put to prison in Acre for eight months, then moved to Nahariya, worked first as a farmer and over time as a construction worker and as a painter. In 1947, he moved to Binyamina, where he was drafted into the Alexandroni Brigade and was a machine gunner in the vicinity of Ein Shemer. On his fourth birthday, on the 4th of Cheshvan 5709 (November 4, 1948), his position was attacked and an Arab sniper shot his life and was put to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya.
