Benjamin, Meir (Milo)


Meir (Milo), Ben Sa’ida and Yehezkel, was born on 27.11.1952 in Ramat Gan. Meir was drafted into the IDF in early February 1971 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After completing his basic training, he completed a tank course and a tank commander course. He served with the rank of sergeant as commander of the Patton tank. During the period of his service in the Israel Defense Forces, he did not say much about his difficulties and did not complain, but chose to hide his distress and always tried not to worry his parents.In the Yom Kippur War, Meir took part in the battles against the Egyptians on the Sinai front. 1973.), was rescued from a damaged tank and transferred to the armored personnel carrier, which was later hit directly by a battle on the southern front. Meir was declared a missing person and only in December 1973 was he declared a soldier. When his body was identified, he was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He was survived by a father, mother, brother, and two sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to First Sergeant.
