Benita, Shlomo (“Shlomik”)

Son of Yaish and Esther. He was born on the 3rd of Shvat 5710 (21.1.1950) in Jerusalem and studied at the Engel Yeshurun ​​Elementary School, a modest, shy and timid child, quiet and always willing to help anyone in need. He had always loved the children in the neighborhood, and he always knew how to say the right word in the right place, and after graduating from elementary school he wanted to continue his studies in an agricultural high school, but because of objective difficulties it did not work. He began to study at the Lipschitz High School for example in Jerusalem, where he completed his studies You called his enlistment to the IDF and even tried to advance the date of his enlistment, but this did not succeed. He was drafted in February 1968. He was a good soldier and a favorite of all his commanders and comrades in arms. After service for over a year he asked to go to a combat paramedics course. His request was fulfilled and he successfully completed the course. In a posthumous letter, he wrote about his strong desire to continue his academic studies in medicine or law. He was proud of the unit where he served, just as he would have been proud of being a native of Israel. On September 1, 1969, he fell in a clash with terrorists while on a tour of the Golan Heights. Was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
