Benderly, Uzi


Son of Shmuel and Chana, one of the founders of Beit She’arim. The family is established in Israel and is from Safed. Uzi was the fourth generation in the country. He was born on May 27, 1945 in Beit She’arim. He grew up and was educated in a moshav on the Labor Party. He completed his studies at the elementary school and then studied at the Kiryat Tivon High School and completed his studies there. After school, he devoted himself to working in his parents’ farm. He was cheerful and loved to go on trips in Israel. He was active in guiding the moshav youth, the Hanoar Haoved movement and Hapoel. He loved Hebrew literature and used to read poetry and prose. After completing his studies, he enlisted in the IDF in August 1964 and volunteered for the paratroopers, devoted himself to safety and diligently carried out every task he was assigned or carried out. His plan was to study law after his discharge from the army, but before he was able to finish his service, he fell during his duty on December 28, 1965, and was brought to eternal rest in the Beit She’arim cemetery.In Uri Milstein’s book, “He recalled.
