Ben Rivka and Maimon. He was born on the 4th of Sivan 5764 (4.6.1974) in Ashdod, the fifth son of a family of six children. David was especially attached to his mother, and the foster son of his older brothers and sisters. He studied at the Moriah State Religious elementary school in the Bnei Akiva high school in Neveh Herzog in Nir Galim and at the Makif A high school in Ashdod, in the academic track. David excelled in his studies and was particularly prominent in the real professions. He was a vigorous and lively boy, full of joy and humor, and in all his actions he aspired to perfection. David stood out in his love for various arts, in which he dealt in his spare time: computer graphics, painting, carpentry and drawing. In his youth, he was a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement. In this framework he participated in social activities and traveled around the country. During this period he formed friendships with Tami. Real friendship, which lasted four beautiful years. He successfully completed the tests and tests for the pilot course, passed the special training and was invited to the pilot course. On January 19, 1993 David was drafted into compulsory military service in the Israel Defense Forces, and after six months he was suspended from the course to return to a course for combat medics and was sent to an officer’s course. “To. David was on his way to his unit when the first explosion was heard, and he felt he would be able to help him. David was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Ashdod, and was survived by his parents, Shani Vitae – Jacob and Isaac, and three sisters – Rachel Ward and Irish. Twenty-one would fall. Posthumously promoted to the rank of lieutenant. The day after the attack was supposed to speak before David Nahal unit officers, on “The medics conduct mass attack”. To prepare this lecture, David devoted considerable thought and concentrated appropriate material from previous terror attacks in Afula and Hadera, read much documented material and prepared a videotape to illustrate the material in his lecture. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the commander of the unit wrote: “David was killed when he ran to help his friends who were injured in the intense and difficult explosion … David’s behavior in his last moments was characteristic of his special qualities and good will. He would always say the things on his heart that are pure and simple. ” From a letter David wrote to his mother when he was on a pilot course: “I’m really not sure if I want to fly at all, because it does not interest me at all (at this stage anyway) … I wish I could know what the future holds! And see what came out of me. ” On January 16, 2003, the OC Central Command granted Lieutenant David Ben Zino a personal citation, which was given to his family, “for the insanity of the soul, for the realization of the value of evil through self-endangerment, courage, resourcefulness and exemplaryness.”
