Ben-Yaakov, Yosef (Bagdadi)


Son of Esther and Jacob, was born in 1914 in the city of Anah, Iraq. He arrived in Palestine in 1930 and settled in Jerusalem. He worked A few weeks before his death he felt ill and was given leave. But he returned from his vacation, before he finished, and went to work at Mount Zion. On November 18, 1948, at the time of fortification, the front position on Mount Zion was hit by a sniper bullet of the Arab Legion and fell. He left a wife, three sons and a daughter. He was buried in Sheik-Bader Bet. On the 17th of Sivan 5761 (21.6.1951) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
