Ben-Uziyahu, Mordechai


Son of Mazal and Shabtai was born on May 29, 1926, in Greece. Mordechai immigrated to Israel on September 24, 1935 and lives in Tel Aviv. After completing high school, he began studying at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was a member of the Lehi underground and his nickname was “Uzi” and “Dror.” Mordechai served as the Lehi Youth Center in Jerusalem and was an excellent guide. He was a quiet and courageous man of friends. When he was unable to detonate the explosives to destroy the building, he ordered his men to withdraw and he stayed where he was Mordechai was killed in a training accident on May 30, 1948 and was buried in Sheik Bader A. On September 10, 1950, he was transferred to a rest- World at the military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
