Ben-Tov, Shlomo-Avraham
Shlomo-Avraham, son of Shoshana and Yitzhak Son of-Tov, was born on September 5, 1929 in Basra, Iraq, and when he was six years old he immigrated with his family to Eretz Israel and settled in Tel Aviv’s Hatikva neighborhood. On November 2, 1946, he and his fellow guards went to the Hula Valley to help secure Neot Mordekhai, a new point near Kfar Blum. Shlomo was among the first to begin plowing the land and building the barracks. On the morning of the following day, 9 November 1946, hundreds of armed Arabs, residents of the villages of Zawiya and Salha, attacked the settlers and Shlomo-Avraham was killed. He was buried in the cemetery in Nachlat Yitzhak.
