Ben-Shushan, Zion
Zion, son of Chana and Eliahu Son of-Shushan, was born on 26 February 1947 in Casablanca, Morocco, and when he was eight years old he immigrated to Israel with his family. He was a quiet guy and a good friend, and in his spare time he devoted himself to sports and was the head of the table tennis team at the WIZO club, Maccabi football team in Tel Aviv. Zion was drafted into the IDF at the end of December 1967 and after his service was discharged and assigned to a reserve unit. Zion participated in the Yom Kippur War and was wounded on October 14, 1973. He died at Tel Hashomer Hospital on 1 Tevet, December 26, 1973. He was buried in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving behind a wife and son, parents, brothers and sisters.
