Ben Shalosh, Dina


Daughter of Sol and Michael, was born on December 29, 1963, in Morocco. In 1964, when she was about two months old, she immigrated with her parents to Israel. The family settled in Ashdod, where Dina began her studies. She studied at the Uziel Elementary School in Ashdod for three years. Afterward, she moved to the Yahalom School and completed her junior high school. One year she attended high school in Kibbutz Hefetz Haim. Afterward she moved to the agricultural boarding school in Mikvah Israel, where she completed her high school studies. In March 1982, she enlisted in the IDF and served in a Nahal unit. From the beginning of her induction, she underwent various stages of training as an instructor in infantry units, completing a course for NCOs, a mortar course and a course for instructors in various weapons. Her commanders appointed her to serve as infantry instructor, and Dina was described by her commanders as “highly capable, very open-minded and sociable.” In May 1983 she was sent to a training course for platoon instructors, and on Thursday, 17.5.1983, Her service. She was 19 when she died. After her death she was promoted to the rank of Corporal, who was buried in the Ashdod military cemetery and left behind her parents, two brothers and two sisters, and a Torah library was established in the community synagogue in Ashdod
