Ben-Shalom (Unreich), Uri


Son of Shlomo and Shoshana. He was born on January 24, 1940 in Kfar Sava. He attended the “Bar-Ilan” school on the site and at the “Bnei Akiva” Yeshiva called Nativ Meir. He belonged to “Bnei Akiva” and organized a group of Jewish studies. He also founded and coordinated the “Religious Working Youth” organization in Kfar Sava. His devotion was characteristic of him, and especially this was expressed in his attitude to the family in his concern to bring content into the life of his friends and even in his daily work. It also suited him to the end, being loyal to the job and falling on his watch. In his spiritual life, too, his dedication was felt and he was devoted to the work of the Creator with all his Lev and soul. On the eve of the Six-Day War, he was called again to the flag, and on the third day of the battles, he was shot on the 7th of Iyar 5727 (7.6.1967), shot by an enemy squad in a battle north of the Mitla in the Lev of Sinai Who was buried in the military cemetery in Bari and later moved to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kfar Sava.In order to commemorate Uri’s name, a scholarship fund was established by his parents and his family to help poor students continue their high school studies and high school and professional yeshivas.
