Son of Malka and Yaakov, brother of Amit and Ido. He was born on February 27, 1986 in Kibbutz Ma’agan on the shores of Lake Kinneret. Was named after former prime minister Ariel Sharon. He was intelligent and clever, shy and introverted. Ariel was blessed with peace of mind and would occupy himself for many hours building various structures and forms in Lego. When he was two and a half years old, his family moved to Tiberias, and Ariel visited the kindergartens in his area. He began his studies at the “Kinar” Elementary School, and continued in the junior high and high school of the “Amal Tiberias – Nofarim in the Galilee” high school. In the ninth grade, Ariel was examined in the “Hadassah tests,” and in certain areas it turned out that his achievements were above average. The results of the tests indicated his tendency toward communication and computers, and indeed, these were the professions that Ariel loved. He studied communications and radio and went to five matriculation units in these subjects. His great attraction to computers was also significant; Ariel spent many hours surfing the Internet, acquired a lot of knowledge in operating the computer and excelled in building sites. As a result, his English greatly improved, he enjoyed professional studies and achieved an impressive level of control in this language. His friends say that in every problem they encountered, in a computer or in English, they would turn to him for guidance and solutions. Ariel loved music very much, and listened to songs of all styles. According to his friends, he was the first to catch up on every single “single” that was released in Israel and around the world, immediately added to the private playlist he created on the computer – which contained hundreds of songs – and quickly shared with the friends. He was so connected to music that he would not part with her at night, and would go to sleep with headphones. In sports, Ariel liked to watch soccer, basketball, and boxing matches. He knew all the teams in Israel and the world, and knew the names of all the players. He himself is a member of the Maccabi Haifa football team and the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team. Ariel’s relations with his family were close and warm. He strove to follow in the footsteps of his older brother, Amit, a former deputy company commander in Golani, for whom he was a role model. The fact that his father was a former combatant in an elite unit also had a considerable influence on Ariel’s strong desire to serve as a fighter. When he enlisted in the IDF on August 1, 2004, Ariel volunteered for the Golani Brigade and began infantry training as a soldier in Battalion 51 – “The First Bombers.” He did not complain or complain and would call in the small hours of the night to say that he had completed a journey, It was wonderful. “After his fall, his parents learned from the battalion commander that during the basic training period, Ariel had received an” outstanding soldier “. His friends say he liked to help, and that although he was shy and quiet, he had a special sense of humor and would laugh them to tears. Ariel proved leadership, dedication and professionalism and was marked for command. Ariel was killed in operational activity in the southern Hebron hills on October 15, 2005. On Friday, at 3 am, Ariel and his friends were at the “Shani” post and were sitting in their “Hammer” vehicle, suddenly a soldier who had no driver’s license and started to drive wildly took over the vehicle.
