Ben Naftali, Achiyahu Shlomo
Son of Arieh and Yaffa. He was born on the 2nd of Elul, September 6, 1948, in Ein Hahoresh. He was named after his uncle Dudu, who was the twin brother of his father, who fell in the War of Independence, three months before Achiyahu’s birth. He was a member of Hashomer Hatzair, and a counselor in the “Kinn” movement in Ramat Gan. He participated in writing articles, and wrote poetry in the Hashomer Hatzair magazine, “On the Wall.” He was active in the company, and coordinated committees at the educational institution. He was very interested in plastic art, and he had an active part in the drama club. He had a sense of knowledge, and a passion for research. In August 1967, he was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces, and volunteered for the Israel Air Force. Before he completed his regular service, he fell near Be’er Sheva, on the 7th of Adar, February 24, 1969. He was laid to rest in the cemetery, in Ein Hahoresh. On the anniversary of his death, a booklet was published in his memory by Kibbutz Ein Hahoresh, which included the talk of his fellow pilots of his class.
