Yaakov, son of Hannina and Abraham, was born in October 1948 in Mogador, Morocco, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1954. In Israel he studied at the elementary school in Migdal HaEmek, and although he liked the studies, his achievements were mediocre. He was a lover of sports, and most of all liked to play football with his friends in the neighborhood, and he liked to emphasize the importance he attached to respecting others, and he never refused to accept a request for help and always did For others, with joy and a smile of goodwill, he was a devoted son to his parents, loved to help his mother with housework and evenings he would often sit and talk with her about various topics. Jacob was drafted into the IDF in mid-November 1965, and was assigned to the Armored Corps. After basic training, he completed a tank artillery course and was sent to one of the armored units in the south. He was a responsible and dedicated soldier, loved life in the army and bought him many friends among the soldiers of his unit. During the Six-Day War he fought with his unit in the southern sector of Sinai, and at the end of the battles he was awarded the “Six Day War”. During his army service he tried not to worry his parents. He often visited the house, made sure to write often and never complained about difficulties. All the vacations they gave him in the army he devoted to helping at home. At the end of November 1968, he completed his mandatory service and was discharged from the IDF, returning to Migdal Ha’Emek, where he married his girlfriend Iris and they had two sons. when the Yom Kippur War broke out, Yaakov was called to join his reserve unit. On the 12th of Tishrei 5734 (October 8, 1973), in an armor battle near the Firdan Bridge, his tank was hit and he was killed, was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Migdal HaEmek, leaving behind a wife, two sons and parents. After his fall, he was raised to the rank of sergeant: “In the days that Yaakov was in the house, light and joy were in the house, for it was the crown of our head, and has left us descended in darkness. All our deeds will not succeed, and our hearts will be sick among us. “
