Ben-Michael, Adam

Adam, son of Hanna and Michael son of-Michael, was born in 1906 in the city of Musel, Kurdistan. In 1935 he immigrated to Israel and settled in Jerusalem, in the Zichron Yosef neighborhood. He changed his last name to his father’s name. Due to his advanced age, he was recruited only for guarding – one night a week – and for fortifications. On the 7th of Tishrei, 5709 (10.10.1948), when he guarded the Gevurah road, he was seriously injured during the explosion of grenades, died of his wounds and was buried in Sheik Bader A. He left a wife, Rivka, and four children. On 20.8.1950, Adam was transferred to eternal rest in the Givat Shaul cemetery.
