Ben-Melech, Moshe

Moshe, son of Yaffa and Avraham Son of-Melech, was born in Afula in 1955. He joined the IDF in October 1974. He was sent to an officer’s course, completed his army service in August 1976. In the middle of 1980, Moshe moved to the Nahal Brigade and served as a company commander. On the 11th of Tishrei (October 18, 1987), Lieutenant Colonel Moshe Son of-Melech fell in the line of duty in a road accident when a truck from the territories collided head-on with the military vehicle, Moshe was killed along with another officer who was with him in the car. Moshe was laid to rest in the military section of the Ramat Yishai cemetery. He was thirty-two when he died. Moshe left behind a wife, two daughters, parents, three sisters and two brothers.
