Ben Giat, Ya’ar

Ben Giat, Ya’ar

The eldest son of Ira and Joseph. He was born on the 5th of Tevet, 5768 (6.1.1987) in Safed, a brother to the river and a landscape, grew up in Kibbutz Nachsholim, and was born exactly nine months after we married. He studied at the Carmel and Yam High School in Kibbutz Ein Carmel and went on to the Carmel Beach High School on Kibbutz Ma’agan Michael, where he studied film and communications. When he returned from the test, he told his mother: “Mother, it was a test for the gifted, I came out graceful.” Ya’ar’s main hobbies were basketball and computers. Ya’ar was drafted into the IDF at the end of July 2005 and after training as a combat soldier he was stationed in the infantry battalion of the infantry battalion, “he had a good army,” his sister Nof recalls. “He loved the action, “When I returned home,” he told her, “I will have something to play with.” A week before his fall, he called his home , Said that on the upcoming TV show “Uvda” an article will be broadcast by Itai Engel on his battalion, and asked everyone to watch it. When his mother watched the trailers for the show, she suddenly realized that her son was at the center of the fighting, in the midst of the fighting, but Ya’ar calmed her down and said there was nothing to worry about. Six days later, his life was severed. Ya’ar fell in battle in southern Lebanon during the Second Lebanon War on August 12, 2006. He was nineteen when he fell. He was laid to rest in the cemetery on Kibbutz Nachsholim. Survived by parents, brother and sister. After his fall he was promoted to sergeant. On his grave were engraved the words “A brother of a river and a landscape, a sad dream of beauty and a smile that will never pass to me.” Ya’ar was commemorated on the website of the joint school “Hof Hacarmel”. On the memorial page on the site is the song of Nadav Barnea, a friend of the cycle, who wrote and composed the song “Like Hair”: “Thin delicate voices / sometimes go by and wait / When they will stand as a lost river in the sea, like hair. // Worn flowers on the side of the known roads / Still waiting in silence as a river / lover waits for her lover as thirsty for the melody / Quietly as hair. // Glowing stars / Lost in emptiness and space / When they fall Who will ask for Whatever it is / whatever it was. ” Matan Benjiu, a close friend of Ya’ar, parted from him in his poem “Standing in front of the grave”: “Standing in front of the grave … / Open wide / And in the corner of your eye you see / bring your coffin / Your coffin has already been lowered / really bury you // Standing in front of the grave … / The ash hits the closet / Your mother looks at you / And I cry with the crowd // Standing in front of the grave … / Looking for your character / And you just lie there / // Standing in front of the grave … / Reading a eulogy for you / My whole body shaking / Standing in front of the grave … / Words barely coming / trying, but unable to stop the tears // Standing in front of the grave … Saluting And a friend of yours tears out of you, / I suddenly understand / We will not see each other again. ” Tania, the educator of Ya’ar, wrote: “With my farewell from the twelfth grade, our class – I thanked you for Ya’ar for ‘the right things that were said from you and always at the right time’. I thanked you for the light that illuminated complicated situations. I thanked you for the truth. . On your own way you saw things at their funny angle, and you had another interpretation to illuminate them with a smile. butIt was just one line in a speech, in fact I thank you for what you were, for what you contributed to my class and me, for being the man you can always rely on? In the yearbook they wrote about your apathy – we all knew you well, you introduced the ‘indifferent’, but you cared about everything, got involved in helping, photographing, editing, carrying the food on the annual trip, being supported. You had many friends and everyone without exception loved you, for whom you were always ready, Ya’ar. ? “You are the modest child, the little one who spends all his money on computer games, the delicate child, the favorite of all the girls in the class, the beautiful, the charming, the special sense of humor that made us laugh in difficult moments, I am already missing you, your smile, your owl, your serenity, you … love you my child, and love you all your friends. ” In memory of Ya’ar was dedicated the annual “I have no other country” of the Carmel and Sea elementary school that took place on May 31, 2007 in Kibbutz Ein Carmel. In the matriculation examination of the expression, Ya’ar wrote the book “The Spirit of Man in the Fight against the Limitations of the Body” and expressed his unique worldview: “The human spirit is a powerful force that is usually revealed in the most difficult situations of man, physically and mentally. This force can strengthen a person at such a level that he could not have imagined or expected. “This can be seen in the army’s mobilization in the elite units. Then you discover the effect of will on one’s physical abilities. Army surges are some of the most difficult tasks a person can endure, so most young people usually retire in the middle. Only a small percentage is successful in the formulations. In military formations, not only those with high physical fitness manage to pass. After a few exhausting runs, everyone has no strength, and only someone with a strong spirit can continue to finish the process. The late hours at night also have a great effect on the desire. No matter how much physical strength a person has to get up in the middle of his sleep for a journey, it requires much more than just physical strength, and the intention is for spiritual strength – both for morale and for continuing to the end. “Among patients with cancer, there are many cases that can no longer cure, treat and help, and then the patient must maintain a strong spirit in order to try to survive, the only thing that changes in such situations is if you want your life enough. “Not only in cases of cancer, it is possible to see the influence of the human spirit on the outcome, but also in the case of actor Christopher Reeve, an example can be seen (Yoram Meltzer, 2004). Christopher Reeve’s injury was diagnosed with total disability from the shoulders down, but miraculously he managed to improve his condition to a state of disability only for both legs. There is no real explanation for this phenomenon, but people like to believe in the inner power inherent in them so that once they need that power, it will be there beside them. “Another example is from the entertainment field, and the drummer of the religious rock band” Fred “lost his hand in a car accident, which did not stop him from doing everything he could to keep the drums on, but he had to do it with one hand. Drummer, it does not occur to him that he does it with one hand, he sounds like a drummer in every way, and it’s pretty hard to believe if you do not see it. ” A few years ago, for example, a four-year-old boy went on a stormy trip with his father and uncle. In the middle of the voyage their rubber boat overturned and the boy was forced to cling to the bank of the stream that was rocky and serrated. For two hours he held her until the forces arrivedRescue and took him off. There is no chance that a four-year-old could hold his weight for two whole hours if it were not for the strong human spirit that helped him do so. “Another example is that the famous musician, Beethoven himself, who became deaf after composing his best works, did not stop and continued to write works of art, which Beethoven did with the memory that gave him the ability to memorize the notes and write them directly on a page. Known mainly for his works, but many did not know that he was already deaf when he wrote them. “In summary, the spirit of man resides in all of us. But our use of this spirit comes mainly in emergencies, when there is a real danger to our lives. This inner strength strengthens us not only physically, but also mentally. The human spirit is what keeps us wanting to live until the last moment. Even when it seems to us that there is no longer a chance, it will always seem to us that we can still be saved no matter what trouble we are in. “His mother, Ira, says that this composition written by Ya’ar is a kind of will for her – To my Ya’ar, dear Ya’ar, as I read the things that have been said about you and the things that have been said from you, I am filled with respect, esteem and a great love for you and feelings of satisfaction and satisfaction with the way I raised you. Love you forever. From my father Yossi the lover. “
