Ben Eliyahu, Tamar

Daughter of Edna and Omri. Tamar was born in Israel on July 13, 1983. On July 25, 2002, Tamar enlisted in the IDF. She served in the Education Corps. During her service, she advanced to the rank of corporal. Tamar fell in a terrorist attack in Jerusalem on 11 Sivan, 11 June 2003. She was twenty years old when she fell. She was laid to rest in the cemetery in Moshav Faran in the Arava, where she lives. Survived by parents, and three brothers Ziv, Hadas and Lior. After her fall, Tamar was raised to the rank of sergeant. On Tamar’s gravestone was written by her loved ones: “Our Tamar, a child of the desert.”
