Ben-Eliyahu (Mizrachi), Avner

Avner, son of Eliyahu and Frida Son of-Eliyahu, was born on January 6, 1936 in Jerusalem. He was known to everyone as a man who loved to help his acquaintances with advice and action. On December 6, 1953, Avner was drafted into the IDF and volunteered to serve in the Golani Brigade, and after serving in the Golani Brigade, he served for many years in the brigade as a reserve soldier. During an active reserve duty in the Jordan Valley, Avner fell in his duty on 26 Av, 10.8.1977, and was buried in the military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, leaving behind a wife, a son and a daughter. Three months after his death his third son, named after him, Avner-Eyal, was born.
