Ben-Dor, Moshe-Doron
Moshe (Moshik), son of Rachel and Abraham, was born on 21 November 1954 in Jerusalem. Moshe was drafted into the IDF in February 1973 and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade. After completing basic training and after completing a training course for special equipment operators, he was placed in a commando unit as a marathon operator. During the Yom Kippur War he fought with his unit in the battles that took place on the western side of the Suez Canal, and on October 24, 1973, at the entrance to the city of Suez near the dike, Moshe was hit by a direct hit while fighting from the half-track, and was killed. He was not even nineteen years old. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery on Mount Herzl. Survived by his parents, brother and sister. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal.
