Ben-David, Ovadia
Son of Miriam and Sa’adia, was born in 1922 in Aden and immigrated with his family to Eretz Israel in 1930. After completing his studies at the Amami School, he began working as a laborer at a young age, and married and had four children. Ovadia participated in Hagana training and was imprisoned in 1942 for defending the honor of an Israeli woman from two British drunken soldiers. During the War of Independence he served in the Hatikva neighborhood and participated in battles in Abu Kabir, Ramle and Lod. During his service, Ovadia fell ill, was transferred to the military hospital in Safed. On the 22nd of Elul, September 26, 1948 he died of his illness. Ovadia was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Safed.
