Ben-David, Or

Or, son of Dov and Yona Son of-David, was born on May 24, 1959 in Kibbutz Lahav. In mid-November 1977 he was drafted into the IDF and assigned to a Nahal unit. Despite the exhausting training in basic training and despite the constant pressure, he found time to maintain close correspondence with his parents and friends, and always asked to be kept informed of what was going on in the kibbutz. Despite an injury to his leg, he continued training and did not take advantage of it. At the end of basic training, he was assigned to a Nahal unit and was to be sent to a squad commanders’ course. On April 11, 1978, he fell in the course of his duty in southern Lebanon during the Litani operation and was brought to rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Lahav, where he left behind his parents and brothers.
