Ben-David (Meshulam), Shmuel


Son of Avraham. Born in 1896 in the city of Shumla, Bulgaria, to parents of low income. On his own he acquired an education in the Gymnasium and served during the First World War as an officer in the Bulgarian army. Under the influence of his Zionist father, he immigrated to Eretz Israel, joined the “Gdud Ha’avoda” and worked on paving the Kinneret road. As a member of the Haganah, he was sent to protect the Neve Shalom neighborhood on the Jaffa-Tel Aviv border, and was severely wounded by shots and knife stabs all over his body. He was buried in a mass grave with the rest of the victims of the riots, in the old cemetery in Tel Aviv.In the investigation conducted in 2017, he was found at the Trumpeldor cemetery in Tel Aviv , In Israel.
