Ben-David (Hachmovitch), Jacob


Son of-David-Zvi and Sarah. He was born in Romania in 1925. He immigrated to Israel with his parents in 1925. The entire family settled in Moshav Merhavia, belonged to the Hanoar Haoved movement, and was a member of the Haganah. During World War II he was sent by the Hagana to serve in the Coast Police. After graduating from high school in Tel Aviv, he studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in the Department of Humanities, where he devoted himself to the history profession. He participated in the War of Independence and was a deputy company commander. During his service in the “Moriah” Battalion, he was injured while performing his duties in one of his activities. Died on the 13th of Sivan 5709 (June 10, 1949) and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak
