Ben-David, Ezekiel
Was born on April 13, 1904, in Russia. Has a high school education. Organized self-defense in his native Russia. Immigrated to Israel in 1921. From the Third Aliya. In Israel he was a mechanic and worked for many years in a factory. He was a member of the “Kedem” group, one of the first members of the “Haganah” in Tel Aviv, and over the years he was assigned weapons production and import duties. Later he worked at Tnuva in Tel Aviv. He served for a time as commander of the Haganah in Tel Mond and later in son of Shemen. Lately, one of the Hagana commanders in Tel Aviv. His nickname: Hai. During the War of Independence he served as an intelligence officer on the southern front. On July 20, 1948, during a tour with his friends Yisrael Shachori and Shura Osherovitz, in order to determine the outposts in the vicinity of son of Shemen, he boarded an anti-tank mine near the Arab village of Jimazo and was killed along with his friends. The next day he was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak. He left behind a wife. After his death he was promoted to the rank of Major.
