Ben-David, Elisha


Son of Esther and Zvi, was born on January 15, 1936 in Jerusalem. He attended an elementary school and was one of the outstanding students. Was a gifted child and stood out mainly in arithmetic, engineering and Hebrew. Elisha was a member of the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement. His curiosity, wisdom and alertness to everything that happened in his city during the fateful days of the United Nations General Assembly resolution on the partition of the country took him outside and he joined the forces defending the capital city. As well as with his precision, and the amount of his caution, and the many dangers he experienced during daring missions between the front positions of the defensive forces, and all of them came out safely, despite his early age. On the 17th of Iyar 5708 (17.5.1948), on his way to an extreme position to transfer an urgent contact, he was hit by an enemy shell and fell to the age of 12. On the following day he was buried in Sanhedria, and on the 24th of Nissan 5742 (24.4.1952) To rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
