Son of Esther and Mordechai. He was born on November 16, 1984, in Jerusalem. The third son of a family of six, brother of Ophira, Odelia, Matan, Daniel and Gad. On July 13, 2003, Eliran enlisted and began basic training in the camp 80. At the end of his studies, he returned to Ort Safanian College to continue his studies in grades 13-14, and Eliran did not receive his graduation certificate, and his friend Dolev represented Eliran at the certificate distribution ceremony and brought the certificate to his family. He took a six-month course in computer systems technician at the 7th Training Center in Tzrifin, and was later assigned to the Central Command, where he served as a computer systems technician. Eliran loved life and loved to enjoy. He was energetic, alive and vibrant, and was equipped with a wonderful sense of humor. From time to time he would take his father’s big truck and load his friends on the way to another recreation or a trip. Eliran’s modesty and kindness were among his outstanding virtues, and had a great influence on his relations with his friends. Eliran was the attentive ear and always tried to help his surroundings. He was always optimistic, smiling and reassuring. Thanks to these qualities, he penetrated the hearts of his friends and was for them a guide and was there for them. He was always the subject of the torch that carries all of them. He loved his friends with all his soul, and cared for each and every one of them. His military service also left the same positive impression and aroused appreciation among his friends and commanders. Eliran, as I knew him, was an optimistic, supportive, sensitive, cheerful person, aspiring to the top – to know and to learn, funny and intelligent and attentive to the environment. ” Eliran had many dreams: to advance in the army in his new position, to devote his time to Torah study at the end of his service, and to enter the new home where his parents had built a separate unit. But Eliran’s life was cut short and his dreams did not come to fruition. Corporal Eliran Ben-David fell during his service on May 12, 2006, at the age of twenty-one and a half. Eliran and his friends were hosted by a mutual friend in Jerusalem’s Gilo neighborhood to celebrate the birthday of the friend’s daughter. He and his friends Dolev and Neor went out to smoke a cigarette at the entrance to the barnA friend on the third floor, Eliran sat on a railing, and to the stunned eyes of his friends, Eliran lost his balance, and his attempt to save himself did not help, and he slipped and fell back, down from a great height. His injury was mortal, and the efforts to revive him failed. Eliran was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
